So I have decided that writing about my Italy trip on Facebook, while reaching a much larger audience than this will initially, was a bit amateur. Thus, I have been musing with the idea of starting a dedicated blog to my various travels. The only reason for the delay; I couldn't think of a good name. Well now that I have one (at least I like it!), voilĂ !
This blog is going to focus on a few different things, many times in various combinations. One thing I would like to do is document my quest to see a college football game in every FBS (Division 1-A) university. Having first attended Purdue University, then later transferring to Michigan State, I realized that every university has a unique atmosphere during gameday. Whether it's seeing the Smoke in Miami, or rocking 6th street in Austin before a Texas Longhorn game, I want to see it all! And inn the process, I would love to watch and cheer on my beloved Spartans as they play in those various venues.
Another objective is to catalog the various trips I take with family (Dad passed away from cancer 2 years ago, so now Mom and I make it a point to travel for either holidays like Thanksgiving, or shits and giggles). The first two Thanksgivings we did trips to Napa, California; and just recently we did a trip to Tuscany in October, and the Willamette Valley (Oregon) for Thanksgiving. These trips usually consist of a delightful combination of fine wine and food, so I am sure there will be plenty to write about!
And the rest will be just detailing personal journeys visiting friends and family throughout the USA, and even abroad. Since my time at Michigan State has landed me friends throughout the lower 50, not to mention overseas, a lack of material doesn't seem likely. Money on the other hand... that is always the limitation. That, and time...
Oh well, that is what I am about. I will blog about Oregon ASAP. Until then, cheerio!
